Your help in supporting the mission of the SHVM is important. For more information of how the Society handles donations and how you can contribute, please visit our website .
Abstracts are accepted exclusively through your personal mySHVM2025 area; you will need to have an account to have access to the latter. Please note that payment of your registration fee is required before you can submit an abstract.
The abstract submission deadline is 28 March 2025. The Scientific Committee will then review the received abstracts for inclusion in the scientific programme in one of the following formats:
All attendees who submit an abstract are strongly encouraged to submit also a 1-minute video promoting the abstract. There are no fixed guidelines for this video: it should be a “visiting card” of the results that you will be presenting, trying to attract other participants to discuss the work further with you during the meeting itself. The method and deadline for uploading this video will be provided through your mySHVM2025 area.
The "William C. Stanley" Early Investigator Award (EIA) highlights the scientific accomplishments of promising young researchers and is a major focus of the Annual Meeting of the Society for Heart and Vascular Metabolism.
As in previous years, entrants for the EIA competition should be either students or postdoctoral fellows (postdocs or clinical fellows with over 6 years experience are not eligible for the competition). Previous winners of the "William C. Stanley" Early Investigator Award (or its precursor, termed "Early Investigator Commendation") are also not eligible for this competition.
The EIA competition format was redesigned a few years ago and you do not have to specifically sign up for the award. The organisers will automatically select videos (see “additional format” section above) submitted by eligible junior participants and enter them into this year's EIA competition. In other words, whereas the 1-min video is only encouraged (but not mandatory) for everyone submitting an abstract, if you wish to be included in the EIA competition you must submit a video.
The organisers will select four winners for the EIA, based on the abstract and the 1-minute video submitted by eligible candidates. For each winner, the registration fee will be waived/reimbursed and a personal check of 250 USD will be issued. The winners will present their work in a dedicated session (see the Programme, Monday 23 June).
The organisers will select two winners from the poster sessions.
English is the official language for the meeting.
Accommodation for all SHVM participants will be at Radisson Blu Hotel (63 Rue Lucien Faure 33300 Bordeaux) which will also be the conference venue. Payment for your accommodation is not included in the registration fee: you will be responsible for booking your room directly.
The hotel has 40 rooms that can be shared (each with two single beds). Please specify during your reservation, if you would like a twin room to share.
June is high tourist season and participants are strongly recommended to make their reservation within the deadline indicated above.
Unfortunately, there is an increasing number of fraudulent websites and email promotions claiming to offer registration and accommodation services. Please be advised that payment for your SHVM 2025 attendance can only be processed through this website, within your personal mySHVM2025 area, after you sign up for an account. Also, the SHVM 2025 Organisers have secured preferential rates only with the hotel mentioned above (using the method indicated) and are in no way responsible for arrangements that you make. Please be aware of possible scams.
